The Taste of Mango | Filmmakers Circle
We are excited to invite applications for The Taste of Mango Circle, a unique and enriching session led by award winning artist and filmmaker Chloe Abrahams.
ABOUT THE SESSION
This intimate, screen-free, and participatory event is open to Scotland-based documentary and non-fiction moving image filmmakers, cinematographers, and producers of all marginalised genders. It provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive space designed to open a discussion about making personal documentaries, and exploring ways to work with family and intergenerational trauma.
The Circle will delve into the challenges of turning the camera to oneself and the influence it can have on the narrative, as well as storytelling tools such as letter writing to explore relationships to a difficult past, and to loved ones.
Ahead of the screening of the film in Edinburgh, the event will provide a unique chance to hear from Chloe about her creative practice, and discuss as a group how to build a visual language that resonates with your vision, understanding the nuances of consent in filmmaking, and exploring sensitive topics.
Participation will also include a ticket to watch The Taste of Mango at the Cameo on the evening of the 27th of November, which will be followed by a Q&A with the director, hosted by Reclaim The Frame.
