Smoke Sauna Sisterhood Circle

We are excited to invite applications for the Smoke Sauna Sisterhood Circle, a unique and enriching session led by acclaimed documentary filmmaker and Sundance Directing Award winner, Anna Hints.

About the Session

This intimate, screen-free, and participatory event is open to Scotland-based documentary and non-fiction moving image filmmakers, cinematographers, and producers of marginalised genders. It provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive space designed to open a discussion about work experiences and challenges in a non-judgmental environment, and exploring ways to reclaim your space in the industry.

The Circle will also focus on ‘physicality’, delving into crucial topics such as portraying nudity with an empathetic gaze, building a visual language that resonates with your vision, understanding the nuances of consent in filmmaking, and the camera's influence on the narrative.

Participation will also include a ticket to watch Smoke Sauna Sisterhood at the Glasgow Film Theatre on the evening of the 13th of October, which will be followed by an in-conversation with director Anna Hints, hosted by Reclaim The Frame.
