SDI Coffee Morning: Orwa Nyrabia on IDFA and film festivals in lockdown

Orwa Nyrabia, Syrian documentary filmmaker and artistic director of IDFA, joins us to discuss the place of festivals in the current crisis.

We are delighted to welcome Orwa Nyrabia, independent Syrian documentary filmmaker and current artistic director of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA).

In conversation with Noe Mendelle, we will explore how only a year on in the job, Orwa will navigate the dark waters of COVID 19, next November.

Is this the perfect time to reflect on the importance of festivals in promoting films that allow us to imagine and shape our future narratives?

About the event

After a short discussion, filmmakers will be able to ask the panel questions. We’ll also invite attendees to join breakout rooms post-event for around 30 minutes.

PLEASE NOTE: The event and Q&A will be recorded for distribution on Facebook/YouTube and as a podcast. We kindly request that attendees turn off audio/video during the event.

Once you’ve registered your interest here we’ll send you an invitation with a link to the Zoom meeting.
