Toronto's Hot Docs festival kicks off this week and, as ever, the programme is looking well... HOT! We're delighted to see that lots of exciting Scottish projects have made the cut! From features to shorts to industry events; Scotland is well represented by an eclectic mix of programming. Take a look!

Prophecy
Spend time with renowned Scottish artist Peter Howson as he creates a singular work, in both senses. Lucky for us the film is due to be shown on the new BBC Scotland channel, so keep an eye out!
XY Chelsea
We're delighted and proud to be able to say that one of our Bridging the Gap alumni, Tim Travers Hawkins who made Surpriseville with us back in 2010, will screen his debut feature doc at the festival this year! While that is a huge achievement in itself, the fact that the project has exclusive access to Wikileaks whistleblower Chelsea Manning as she hits the ground running on her release from military prison AND is executive produced by Citizen 4 director Laura Poitras, makes it very special!
EL HOR
Fresh from its Best Experimental Short win at ÉCU in Paris, Dianne Lucille Campbell's film is now heading west to screen alongside Lithuanian Animus Animalis (A Story about People, Animals and Things). This pairing looks inspired to us!
Since its release as one of our Bridging the Gap films last June, EL HOR has screened at Cork Film Festival, Underwire, Cucalorus and even won the Discovery Award at Dublin International Film Festival!
Last Breath
This Screen Scotland backed project takes us to the bottom of the North Sea on what should have been a routine maintenance dive. Using extraordinary footage and deeply honest and emotional interviews, this harrowing tale reconstructs the true life drama of one man's incredible will to survive and the unwavering bravery and conviction of his crew.
Scheme Birds
Another score for Bridging the Gap! Co-produced by Ruth Reid who directed Night Shift in 2011, Scheme Birds follows teenage troublemaker Gemma as her childhood turns to motherhood while her grandfather attempts to channel her energy away from the streets with the long-held Glasgow tradition of keeping pigeons.
