Crossing the Line with Dan Edelstyn
Join us for a session with Dan Edelstyn, co-director and co-producer of Power Station to explore alternative models of political and independent filmmaking, working with and for communities, crowdfunding and side-stepping traditional gatekeepers to craft bold, radical documentaries.
Drawing on practical examples from Power Station, Bank Job and How to Re-Establish a Vodka Empire, the session will expand on practical strategies and the broader politics of people-powered films, as well as how to find hope and engage audiences in these dark times.
Power Station (Dan Edelstyn, Hilary Powell / 2025) is screening at Filmhouse in Edinburgh on Thursday, 18th September and will be followed by a galvanising post-screening conversation with Dan Edelstyn and local energy campaigner Ellen Grunewald.
Two artists in Walthamstow set out to take their street off the grid, kickstarting a solar-powered energy revolution.
Dan Edelstyn is a skilled producer and director weaving together collaborations across sectors and drawing audiences into the production process from the moment of inception.
